Worsley CC First XI - 2024 Season Review

Worsley First XI celebrated back-to-back promotions to conclude another successful season.
Led by Tom Rawding, who took 59 league wickets, and Riz Ulhaq, who scored 364 runs, James Kilner's side finished 3rd in GMCL Division 2.
The team registered 14 league wins and 6 defeats in the 2024 season though, with player eligibility enquiries still ongoing, the league standings are provisional and are subject to change.
Despite the last game of the season against Tottington St John's being abandoned due to a wet pitch, the top 3 finish means the First XI will play in GMCL Division 1 in the 2025 season.

The 1st XI also reached the t20 Finals Day for the second consecutive year but were knocked out at the semi-final stage by Ashton.
Rawding struck 272 runs (ave. 90.67) across the 5 matches in the t20 competition with overseas star Connor Mccoy striking 193 runs (ave. 48.25) at a strike rate of 160.83.
Mccoy also took 7 wickets at 14.14 in the shortest version with chairman Dan Henshaw chipping in with 6 wickets at 11.33.
